When Life Changes, So Should Your RoutinesWelcome to The 1% Better Productivity Letter, your weekly dose of simple, actionable strategies to work smarter, boost focus, and build a productive life that fits you. Today at a glance:
It’s okay to change what once workedIf you’ve been here for a while, you already know how much I love my routines—especially my morning routine. It’s something I’ve fine-tuned over the past five years until it felt just right. For a long time, it looked something like this:
It had everything I needed: a moment of mindfulness, something I enjoyed (coffee and books), a dose of productivity, movement, and a nourishing start to the day. By 9:00 am, I felt centered, energized, and ready to take on whatever came next. But then—life changed. In the best possible way. These two dreams coming true have brought so much joy, but naturally, they’ve also changed my rhythm. I couldn’t wake up at 6:00 am anymore—not when I was constantly tired and still adjusting to a new environment. My focus felt different. Our daily walk with Luna turned into peaceful sun-soaked moments in our yard. Everything shifted. So I had to shift, too. I didn’t want to force anything. I wanted my routine to evolve with me—not become something I had to fight against. And to be completely honest, it’s still a work in progress. But slowly, I’m finding my new rhythm. One that fits who I am now. Here’s what my current mornings look like:
As I always say: routines, habits, and systems should feel natural—not like a punishment. From Idea to ActionOne of the most powerful things we can do for ourselves is to stay open to change—especially when it comes to our routines. As your life shifts, your energy, needs, and priorities will naturally shift too. And when they do, the habits that once worked perfectly might not fit the same way anymore. That’s not failure. That’s growth. Maybe you're entering a new season of life. Maybe you're moving, changing jobs, becoming a parent, or simply feeling different in your body and mind. Whatever the reason, paying attention to these changes and how they affect your day-to-day rhythm is essential. You might feel tempted to hold on to routines that once made you feel productive and grounded. But if they’ve started to feel heavy or unsustainable, it’s okay to let them go. You’re not losing progress—you’re simply adjusting to who you are now. And that’s powerful. Here’s something that helps: give yourself a transition period. A few weeks where you test things, explore what works and what doesn’t, without pressure to “figure it all out” immediately. Try different timings. Swap in new habits. Ask yourself:
Let go of the belief that consistency means doing the same thing forever. True consistency means showing up for yourself—even when how you show up looks different over time. When we reframe adjustments as improvements, not setbacks, we make space for our routines to evolve with us instead of becoming another source of stress. ✨ So here’s your gentle challenge for this week: You’re not going backward—you’re building something that fits your life right now.
